Detail Kultur: If Buildings Had DNA, Case Studies of Mutations by Christoph a. Kumpusch investigates the use of architectural detailing in contemporary architecture. Through the use of texts, images, and drawings, the book illustrates how different offices use different techniques to create specific building elements.

The projects include Therme Vals by Peter Zumthor, Musikerhaus by Raimund Abraham, Zollverein School of Management and Design by SANAA / Kazuyo Sejima, APAP Open School by LOT-EK, Kunsthaus Graz by Peter Cook, the Guanzhou Opera by Zaha Hadid,  High Line 23 by Neil M. Denari Architects, the Samitaur Tower by Eric Owen Moss, Torre Cube by Carme Pinós, Cooper Union by Morphosis, The Broad Museum by Diller Scofidio +Renfro, the Sliced Porosity Block by Steven Holl Architects, and the Light Pavilion by Lebbeus Woods and Christoph a. Kumpusch. 

The book will be available in English and Mandarin and is being published by AADCU in January 2016.

I conducted interviews, found images, and strategized the overall production of the publication alongside Christoph and Adam Orlinski.
